One Mob Unions NT

One Mob Unions NT is made up of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander union members as a sub-committee under Unions NT.

The One Mob committee organises around the issues and challenges that indigenous employees and members face in the workplace and wider community.

We believe that education is power, power as a community and power in building good inter-cultural relationships.

We believe in equality and fairness, in the workplace and in our communities.

We believe everyone deserves a safe workplace. Everyone deserves to come home uninjured after work. In compliance with legislation and HSR’s (Health and Safety Reps) within workplaces.

We believe in sticking together. Our work is valuable, we are professionals. Our cultural understanding is irreplaceable. We need respect equality and local jobs for local mob.

With union values we also put these same values into our communities, for example, playing a major role in organising rallies for the Closure of Aboriginal Communities and the follow up conference at CDU last year.

As a union member and Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander you can join One Mob to be a voice for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander workers.
