Our mission is to empower migrant workers across the Northern Territory with the information, confidence and connections they need to understand their workplace rights and visa protections. We work with unions, community organisations, government, employers and legal services to improve access to trusted information and support.

Learn about your workplace rights, including employment contracts, minimum pay and conditions, awards, enterprise agreements, leave entitlements and protections under Australian workplace laws.

Out In The Community
The Migrant Workers’ Hub works across the Northern Territory to connect with migrant workers where they live, work and participate in their communities.
We collaborate with unions, multicultural and community organisations, service providers, employers and other stakeholders through information sessions and workshops, guest speaking opportunities, community events, regional outreach and selected event sponsorships.

Subclass 494 • NT DAMA
Oisín
A truck driver's guaranteed 38-hour work week had been reduced beyond the allowable averaging period during the wet season, impacting income, superannuation, and leave accrual. He was advised of his workplace rights and referred to IARC for independent legal and migration advice.
Subclass 482 • FISHING INDUSTRY
AYAN
A worker reported unsafe conditions and an injury. He was advised of his entitlement to safe conditions and workers' compensation, encouraged to document evidence and seek legal advice, and referred to IARC to confirm his visa protections.
SEASONAL WORKFORCE • KATHERINE REGION
MAHU + COLLEAGUES
Around 120 seasonal mango pickers experienced workplace injuries, some requiring hospital treatment. Educational materials helped them understand their rights to safe work, medical care, and lawful conditions — highlighting the need for outreach to remote, seasonal cohorts.
